Hello hello, Johanna here. I’m excited to let you know that our second keynote speaker is my fellow London resident Martin Belam. Martin is the founder of Emblem, a digital consultancy that offers user experience design, information architecture and training services. He’s spent over a decade building digital and mobile products for brands like Sony, Vodafone and the BBC.
Martin has been part of our IA community for a long time. Apart from contributing blog posts, conference notes and events, he’s also known for giving kick-ass talks and workshops. Having recently launched his own company, in addition to an extensive ‘side career’ as a writer and journalist, he’s sure to have some great stories to share with us all in San Diego.
Prior to venturing out on his own, Martin worked as Head of User Experience at the Guardian. He also co-organizes LDNIA, “a series of talks and other things in Central London”.
Follow Martin on Twitter at @martinbelam.
I’ll have even more Martin for you on the blog soon. I quizzed him about getting stakeholders to buy into research, what he’s learned from starting his own company, and what advice he has for growing a local IA community. Until then, if you’ve got all of your work done already, enjoy some of the fun Martin and his cohorts curate at us vs th3m. Here’s a sample:
